These are the Leaders discipling your teens...

AJ Wolf :: Youth Pastor :: aj@lasfloreschurch.com

Where did you grow up? I grew up in a Marine family so I have lived all over the country but I went to High School in San Clemente and definitely call California my home.

What are your hobbies? I love hiking, biking, and the great outdoors. I also enjoy music, Ultimate Frisbee, and Improvisational Theater. And a good California burrito.

What is your favorite bible verse or quote? I love the language of 1 Corinthians 13. What a beautiful articulation of what love is, and of our ability to participate in that love towards each other, even as we "see in a mirror dimly."

Who is the most influential person related to your ministry? I have had many amazing mentors in my life, but no one has shaped me or my ministry more than my father; a man who I have watched model Christ through his servant's heart, work ethic, and passion for others.

Who is your favorite author? I love the writings of Donald Miller and Henri Nouwen. There's also a lot of deep philosophy in A. A. Milne's "Winnie-the-Pooh" if you look for it.

What kind of music do you listen to? I love most everything. I was raised on classic rock and jazz.

What is a favorite trip you've been on? In 2014 I had the opportunity to hike the Appalachian Trail, a 2,185.3 mile trek from Maine to Georgia. It was a fantastic and challenging life experience which I was lucky to share with both my father and best friend.

What is a surprising fact about you? Once when I was 10, I tried to set a record for the most bounces on a pogo-stick. I made it to 8,692 bounces.

Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in San Diego, California. However, I am glad to have family in both Oregon and Idaho so I can experience the snow!

What are your hobbies? I really enjoy crocheting and hope to one day be more advanced than the basic crochet stitch. I love watching movies and drinking all kinds of tea. I also am a huge fan of outdoor sports, camping, and hiking.

What is your favorite bible verse or quote? I love Romans 8. The whole chapter. Check it out.

Who is the most influential person related to your ministry? I’ve been strongly influenced by James H. Cone’s book, The Cross and the Lynching Tree. It parallels discrimination against black Americans in the South with the persecution of Jesus.

Who is your favorite author? JK Rowling. My favorite is the 3rd one!

What kind of music do you listen to? I listen to Christmas music all year long.

What is a favorite trip you've been on? I got to go on a California road trip with four of my great friends this last summer. I’m also hoping to go to Iceland this year!

What are your hobbies? Besides carpooling my 3 children around, you can find me singing, laughing, playing ping pong, and watching cheesy Hallmark movies.

What is your favorite bible verse or quote? Philippians 4:6-7 and Joshua 1:9 These two passages have helped me during the hardest days of my life. Come find me, I'd love to share my story with you... how God has brought peace through many storms, how His love never fails, and how He sometimes gives us a small glimpse into his miraculous plan.

Who is the most influential person related to your ministry? Wow... There are so many people who have and continue to shape my faith. Some of these people are my husband, parents, friends, and many special people here at Las Flores who have definitely challenged me to be more Christlike.

Who is your favorite author? I don't have a favorite author, but I love historical fiction. Unfortunately, these days I don't have too much time to read anything except Dr. Seuss.
